Volunteers

Do the Prince Edward Island Marathon without breaking a sweat!

Become a volunteer!

Volunteers play a very important role in making any event a success and the PEI Marathon is no exception. This year we anticipate a need for 250 to 300 volunteers to ensure that we continue to facilitate a world class event in true Island style.

Share your skills, learn new ones and be part of a great team. Give us your time and receive an awesome long sleeve T-shirt, attend a great party just for you, make new friends, get chances to win great prizes and be part of all the experience.

Volunteer in Groups
Work Groups - you and your co-workers can cheer the racers on. Spend some time and think of something that will set you apart from the other departments on your organization or other businesses. Get everyone to come out and show off their creativity and spirit.

Schools - Your bands can play, your cheerleaders can cheer. Everyone can get involved. Make some posters and cheer as load and with as much energy as you can. Make it a competition, whether it is between schools or classes. Get your Student Union to step up.

Community - If your neighborhood is along the marathon course. Camp out in your yards offering much needed support to the racers. Cheer them on.

Friends
- Get a group of friends together. It’s a great opportunity for you to spend some time with each other and show off your crazy side.

All volunteers

  • Wear your free volunteer t-shirt
  • Be aware of your own safety and the safety of all the runners, walkers and spectators
  • Encourage the runners: "Good job!" "Keep it going!"
  • Be friendly and courteous to all, you are representing not only the PEI Marathon, but the island as well.
  • Be attentive. Listen to what people are saying. Feedback is important.
  • Communicate with your chair person(s) with any concerns
